1. Our Role as a Search Engine
Hotones operates as a search engine and content aggregator. We do not host, upload, or control any of the video content displayed on our Site. All videos are:
- Sourced from third-party providers through public APIs
- Embedded from their original hosting platforms
- Displayed with links to the original source
We act solely as an intermediary, providing search and discovery functionality for content that is publicly available elsewhere on the internet.
2. How to Report Copyright Infringement
If you believe that your copyrighted work has been copied or displayed on Hotones in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please provide our Copyright Agent with the following information in writing:
Required Information for DMCA Notice:
- Your Contact Information:
- Full legal name
- Mailing address
- Telephone number
- Email address
- Identification of the Copyrighted Work:
- Description of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed
- If multiple works, a representative list of such works
- Identification of the Infringing Material:
- The specific URL(s) on our Site where the allegedly infringing material appears
- Sufficient information to allow us to locate the material
- Statement of Good Faith:
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- Statement of Accuracy:
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed
- Signature:
- Your physical or electronic signature
3. How to Submit Your DMCA Notice

4. Our Response Process
Upon receipt of a valid DMCA notice, we will:
- Review the Notice: Verify that it includes all required information
- Take Action: Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material from our search index
- Notify Content Provider: Forward the complaint to the original content host/provider
- Confirm Removal: Send you a confirmation once the content has been removed from our index
Please note: Since we do not host the content, we can only remove it from our search results. The content may still exist on the original hosting platform. You should also contact the original content host directly.
5. Counter-Notification
If you believe that your content was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notification with our Copyright Agent. The counter-notification must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the content that has been removed and its former location
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the content was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district
6. Repeat Infringers
It is our policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts or access of users who are repeat infringers of intellectual property rights.
7. False Claims
Please be aware that under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing may be subject to liability. If you are unsure whether the material you are reporting is actually infringing, you should contact an attorney before filing a DMCA notice.
